In order to contribute to making Japan a "Sports Nation", encouraging globalization, revitalization of local areas and promoting inbound tourism toward the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games, we will spread the "Host Town" local authorities all over Japan which are trying human, economic and cultural exchanges with the participating countries/regions.
The Host Town Initiative aims to connect Japanese local towns and countries/regions taking part in the Tokyo Games, and to have various exchanges. By having a Host Town, the participating country can maximize the performance of its national team in the competition, promote the country’s publicity, and develop long-term relationship with the Japanese local town.
